Sonnet Insurance Top Corner Team Program Presented by TFC

OPDL teams from Whitby FC, North Mississauga SC, North Toronto SC and Toronto High Park FC recently had an opportunity to attend a Toronto FC home match as part of Sonnet Insurance's Top Corner Team program.

Sonnet Insurance, a partner of Toronto FC, aims to highlight positive change, which teams have made, and gives them great experiences to celebrate that.

“Toronto FC and their partner Sonnet Insurance are providing our OPDL teams with a unique and memorable opportunity. Selected OPDL Teams, who have demonstrated positive change from the previous season, are invited to come together to celebrate their improvements at a TFC home game in the Sonnet Insurance Top Corner section," said Khanh Be, Ontario Soccer Manager of Marketing & Partnerships. "We congratulate those teams selected, and thank TFC and Sonnet for their partnership support in providing these experiences to our OPDL athletes.”

An opportunity exclusive to OPDL License Holders, teams were asked to state how they have improved from 2018 to 2019 and how they take safety to heart.

Winning teams receive 24 tickets in the Sonnet Insurance Top Corner, a behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities and a live video of the team on the Toronto FC videoboard at halftime.

“This provides an off-field opportunity for our OPDL teams to create a bonding moment for the squads as well as enjoy some of the best players our province has to offer,” said Gabriel Assis, Ontario Soccer Manager of Player Development. “OPDL takes a holistic approach to development, and that includes social activities that are able to create team environments where the players can connect beyond the field.”
