As part of the Coach Development program, The Soccer Fitness Trainer Diploma Course is a 14 hour course, comprising of practical and theoretical components. Course components will touch upon of the following:
- Strength training
- Fitness assessments
- Monitoring and training youth and female players
- Aerobic energy system training
- Anaerobic energy system training
The course can be delivered over two days on a weekend or over a series of evenings. Multiple locations are currently being secured to deliver the course during 2017. Once the locations have been confirmed that information will be released.
The requirements for coaches to apply to the Soccer Fitness Trainers Diploma course are that they must provide proof of successfully taking one of the following; Learn to Train, Soccer for Life, Pre-B assessment, C Licence or B Licence. And Make Ethical Decisions, Respect in Sport, and Making Head Way in Soccer.
Coaches must provide the required documentation in their Application that can be completed on Coach Centre. Once the coach’s application has been approved they will then be granted access to register for the course.
Provincial B Licence coaches who attend the Soccer Fitness Trainer Course will also attain seven (7) professional development points to go towards the maintenance of their Provincial B Licence.
Coaches create an account on Coach Centre if they do not already have an existing account. Applications will only be accepted via E2E Coach Centre. Coach Centre will send an automated email to the coach stating that the application has been submitted.
Locations will be determined by Ontario Soccer and advertised on Coach Centre.
