ANDY CHARSLEY

Andy is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and has 30 years of experience in the Construction and Mining Industries. He is currently working as a Principal Engineer in the Global Technology and Innovation Group at one of worlds largest diversified mining companies. Andy holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto and Masters Degree in Mining Engineering from Laurentian University in Sudbury. He is also certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute.

Andy volunteered for a number of years as a Coach and Assistant Coach on his daughters Sudbury based teams who played in the Central Girls Soccer League. He also had the pleasure of being a soccer parent while one of his daughters played for the St. John’s Soccer Club in Newfoundland where he lived with his family from 2012 to 2018, while working at a remote mining operation in Northern Labrador.

Andy has served on the Board of Directors of the Valley East Soccer Club (VESC), the Sudbury Regional Competitive Soccer League (SRCSL), the Greater Sudbury Soccer Club (GSSC) and the Sudbury Regional Soccer Association (SRSA). Andy was instrumental in chairing a committee from 2007 to 2010 in Sudbury that successfully developed and implemented a plan to merge 7 youth competitive soccer club programs in Sudbury to form 1 amalgamated program. More recently he has been leading a working group looking at improvements to the governance structure for soccer in Northern Ontario. The project is suitably known as “Project North.”
