Each year the Ontario Cup could not happen without tournament hosts.
District Associations, Clubs, Leagues, and Referee Associations may host one or more Ontario Cup tournaments. District Associations, Provincial Leagues and Regional Leagues apply directly to Ontario Soccer while all other organizations apply through their District Association.
All tournament groups will consist of either four teams, where each team will play one game Friday, one game Saturday, and one game Sunday at prearranged times, or three teams where each team will play two games over three days on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. This format is intended to give more rest time to the players, reduce risk of injury, to elevate the level of play, and is key to a more "player-centered" mentality.
