Tight battles at top of men's east and west divisions, with a four team race in women's division

Play. Inspire. Unite.

As the League1 Ontario 2017 season enters the final stretch, all divisions are tightly knotted with teams at the top attempting to repel the would-be giant-killers.

In the men's west division, Sigma FC found a timely hat-trick from former Toronto FC forward Molham Babouli to get a 5-1 result over Woodbridge Strikers and force joint-leaders Oakville Blue Devils to a late comeback win over Aurora FC to keep pace.

Woodbridge Strikers started Matchweek 16 in style by beating their closest rivals Vaughan Azzurri, but fatigue set in as they collapsed against Sigma FC and were forced to watch Vaughan partially close the gap again with a win over Sanjaxx Lions. Woodbridge holds a five point lead on local rivals Azzurri with only seven matches remaining in their respective seasons.

On the women's side, FC London extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a valuable road win against West Ottawa, but leaders North Missisauga Panthers made use of their double game matchweek with two victories over Durham United FA and Sanjaxx Lions.

North Mississauga hold a five point lead at the top, but with a three way tie for second place between FC London, Vaughan Azzurri and Unionville Milliken - the Panthers cannot afford a slip-up.
