The U-18 Boys Ontario Cup Final took place Sunday, July 23 at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

A day earlier, in the semi-finals, Mississauga Clarkson Comets edged Hamilton Sparta 1-0 and Erin Mills cruised to a 6-0 win over Caledon Bulldogs to advance to Sunday's final.

Reshaun Walkes opened the scoring in the 7th minute when he pounced on a Clarkson clearance. His half volley from 20 yards out fooled the Clarkson keeper to make It 1-0 Erin Mills.

The two sides would trade chances over the course of the first half but neither were able to find the back of the net and the game entered into halftime at 1-0 for Erin Mills.

When the match restarted after the break, Mississauga Clarkson were the ones on the front foot. Despite repeated chances in on net, Erin Mills were able to hold on to their narrow lead.

In the 70th minute, Mississauga Clarkson keeper Chester Ashby drew a yellow card after a dangerous tackle saw him collide with an Erin Mills striker, preventing what could have been a goal scoring opportunity.

At the other end, Erin Mills’ keeper Nikola Curcija was putting on a show, making numerous stops to ensure they maintained their narrow lead in the dying minutes. His efforts ensured the score remained 1-0 and Erin Mills were crowned Ontario Cup champions.
