Travel insurance is strongly recommended by Ontario Soccer for all registrants when travelling to play out of Province

Travel insurance is strongly recommended by Ontario Soccer for all registrants when travelling to play out of Province, and is mandatory for all teams travelling outside of Canada, in order to ensure all persons are covered for both injury and sickness in a foreign location. Such travel insurance is inexpensive for the coverage provided.

As a reminder, Ontario Soccer’s Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance coverage does not include coverage for sickness, and responds as supplementary coverage after OHIP, when out of province OHIP is not available.

For 2017, Ontario Soccer has been advised by our insurance provider that due to the rise in cost of medical care in the US by 6% per year, the insurance industry is increasing the travel insurance rate per person from about $3.99 per person to $4.19 in June 2017.

This is an industry-wide increase. Travel insurance for future trips can still be purchased before May 31, 2017 in order to take advantage of the current rates.

Any questions or concerns in this regard can be directed to HUB International.

All insurance information can be found on the Ontario Soccer website.
