League1 Ontario kicked off its 2017 Women's Division on the weekend of May 5-7 with five matches, featuring international-level players, heated derbies, the inauguration of a brand new region - West Ottawa Soccer Club hosted the 2016 L1 Cup Champions Vaughan Azzurri - and a surprise defeat of a freshly-minted Toronto Azzurri Blizzard at the Ontario Soccer Centre.
