Woodbridge Strikers Climb Steadily Into Fourth

It's been a busy week as League1 Ontario regular season games and L1 Cup games took place, and allowed players to really showcase their skills.  Here's a recap of all the games this week.

League1 Ontario Regular Season

Men's Division

Woodbridge Strikers climbed up the table into fourth place with a critical 3-0 away win against Sanjaxx Lions. 

Pro Stars F.C. continued their success from last week, and picked up their second win in a row against Kingston Clippers with a 1-0 result. 

After a solid battle against ANB Futbol in horrid weather, Oakville Blue Devils earned three points through a 2-1 win, and sit comfortably at the top of the table with a six point cushion. 

Durham United F.C. earned three crucial points after a 3-0 win against Master's FA Saints, who are now winless in nine matches.  Click here to read more.

Women's Division

Pro Stars F.C. came back late in the game with goals in the 84' and 90'+2' minutes for a 2-2 tie game against Vaughan Azzurri. 

Players from ANB Futbol and Woodbridge Strikers were slowed down by the cold and wet weather, but the second half saw plenty of goals, and Woodbridge Strikers beat their opponents 3-2. 

In a close match, North Mississauga Panthers faced the undefeated Durham United F.C. but conceded a late goal, losing 2-1 to the table leaders.

L1 Cup Matches

Women's Division

Continuing on their success in the regular season, Durham United F.C. led by 3-2 to win the L1 Cup game against Woodbridge Strikers. 

The L1 Cup game with Vaughan Azzurri and North Mississauga Panthers had to be settled in penalties after a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation time.  Vaughan came out victorious as they scored six to Mississauga's five goals. 

Men's Division

Windsor Stars earned three points in the L1 Cup by defeating Toronto FC Academy at home with a 5-2 result. 

Demonstrating the same form as their League1 matches, Vaughan Azzurri beat their opponents, Kingston Clippers, 4-1 in their second L1 Cup match.
