North Mississauga Panthers 4 Mississauga Dixie 2 (pks) | Featured broadcast |

A scorching start to the day saw the match official calling for a permitted water break only 15 minutes into the game.

Despite the heat the North Mississauga Panthers and Mississauga Dixie traded chances often during the U-18 Girls Ontario Cup semifinal.

Dixie's Melanie Zrno nearly broke the deadlock in the 70 minute when her free kick from 25 yards out curled towards the top corner. It was only by the outstretched hands of North Miss keeper Rachel Yerxa that kept it at 0-0.

Moments later, Dixie would break through with another chance but again Yerxa was there to meet the challenge and keep things level.

Neither team would find the back of the net in regular time and they would go directly to penalties.

The two were level through two shooters but a save by Yerxa and a miss by Dixie would prove to be the difference.

North Mississauga advances to the final, winning 4-2 on penalties.

Waterloo United 1 Mount Hamilton 0

Waterloo United 1997A punched its ticket to the Girls U 18 Ontario Cup Final game with a 1-0 win over Mt. Hamilton on Saturday at Civic Recreation Complex in Oshawa.

The tightly contested affair was played in scorching temperatures but heads remained cool in a game where both teams showed a tremendous amount of respect for one another.

Neither team could score in the first half, but a goal by Hayley Mackie in the 57' was all that Waterloo United would need.

Waterloo United will face last year's Girls U-17 Champions, North Mississauga Panthers on Sunday at 10 am.

The final will be broadcast live from Oshawa Civic Stadium
