Dear OSA Members and Friends of Soccer,

This year we have all witnessed history in the making for our beautiful game in Ontario and Canada. From the stars of tomorrow moving along our development pathway at the grassroots, OPDL and League 1 levels to Canada's Women's National Team doing us all proud in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup on home soil.

As many of us write our own part of soccer history we do so standing on the shoulders of those that have accomplished great soccer feats in the past and blazed a trail for all of us to enjoy soccer in all its facets. For many years now, these extraordinary achievements have been recognized and their legacy preserved and celebrated by The Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum.

To support the important work done under the stewardship of Board of Governors Chairman John Knox and Founder and Chairman Emeritus William Hoyle and their Board of Governors colleagues, as well as soccer historian extraordinaire Colin Jose, I strongly encourage all members of our Ontario soccer community to get behind the 3rd Annual Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum Golf Tournament.

The purpose of this tournament is to empower The Hall of Fame team to continue in preserving our rich soccer history in both Ontario and in Canada. This year, the tournament is returning to scenic Deer Creek Golf Course in Ajax on Friday, August 21st.

The registration fee is $800 per foursome or $200 per individual with proceeds going to the Hall of Fame's continued operation. This is a tremendous value bundle, including 18 holes of golf, golf cart, lunch, dinner and prizes.
The tournament will also be featuring information on past and present Hall of Fame inductees at each golf hole with some inductees participating in the tournament itself, thereby, enabling you to personally meet these players, builders, and pioneers of the game we all love.

The Hall of Fame is looking for the help of the Ontario soccer districts and clubs in promoting the event, by entering a foursome and/or sponsoring a hole. Hole sponsorships for the tournament are $500/ each, providing the contributor with a hole banner, program publishing and acknowledgement at the Induction Ceremony in November.

On the action-packed day of the event, check in starts at 11:00 a.m., while tee-off is at 12:00 p.m after lunch. Please help us in promoting the details of this event to your clubs and colleagues. We are looking forward to having another great event this year.

If you would like more information please contact Louise Garneau-Ross at lgarneau-ross@soccer.on.ca or at 905.706.3933.

Yours
Ron Smale | OSA President
