What is important to know with regards to OPDL competition?

The OPDL competition accounts for 20-25 per cent of overall activity within the development program. The majority of time spent by players will be working week in and week out with their qualified coaching staff on the nationally-led coaching curriculum.

OPDL competition is performed within the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Conferencing allows for co-ordinated competition, regular technical support for player identification and reduced travel requirements within an overall extensive travel commitment. All conference game days will be played at central venues in 2014. These venues include:

WESTERN CONFERENCE

University of Western Ontario (London), University of Guelph, McMaster University (Hamilton), University of Toronto (Mississauga), The Soccer Centre (Vaughan) and Cityview Park/Norton Park (Burlington)

EASTERN CONFERENCE

University of Toronto (Scarborough), Whitby Soccer Centre, Queens University (Kingston), George Nelms Park (Manotick) and Carleton University (Ottawa).

Players experience competition against all teams in their conference and will also have the opportunity to compete against teams in the opposing conference. This will ensure varied opposition and an enjoyable season of play for each athlete.
