The OSA Coaching Development Department has announced the 2016 class for the Female Mentorship Program.

Eight female coaches were selected from across the province to take part in this elite development opportunity.

The Female Mentorship Program is designed to train senior female coaches, who in turn will act as educators and mentors to other female coaches who wish to further develop and progress their coaching careers. The mentorship program is part of a holistic support system approach to enabling promising coaches across the province to reach their full coaching potential in the sport.

Annually the OSA seeks applications for eight Mentee Coaches. The mentee coaches must be working toward the Provincial B and National B coaching licenses. The eight coaches are selected based on their experience, potential, and the recommendations supporting their application.

The selected applicants will be developed in the OSA mentoring program under the guidance of the Female Head Mentor coach. Successful candidates will be required to commit to a 9-month program on a volunteer basis. These coaches will eventually be able to step into a coaching leadership role as they attain their Provincial B or National B license.
