The Advanced Referee Training Program (ART) is pleased to announce that on Saturday June 11, the program will be attended by FIFA officials Carol-Anne Chenard, Marie-Josee Charbonneau and Suzanne Morisset.

The trio of FIFA officials have recently been appointed to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil. The ART Program, whose session will be hosted at the KIA Training Grounds at Downsview Park, is honoured to have them speak to the top Ontario Match Officials about setting goals, World Cup experiences and development as a top match official in Canada.

Chenard is very active in giving back to the Ontario match official community by taking in local events, speaking at conferences and has become a top international women’s referee. The PEI-born, Ottawa native has been on the FIFA List of Referees since 2006 and most recently officiated at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015

Charbonneau was first appointed at the 2009 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) women’s championship as an assistant referee. The Mascouche, QC native has served on the FIFA List of Assistant Referees since 2012.

Morisset has served on the FIFA List of Assistant Referees from 2008 to 2010 and again from 2012 to present. Her first assignment was as an assistant at the CIS Gladys Bean Memorial Trophy 2008.

For Chenard and Charbonneau, this will be their second time at the Olympics Games, having officiated at the London 2012 Olympics Games. More recently, the trio officiated together at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 and also at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015.
