With a growing number of Ontario players now looking forward to getting outdoors the OSA continues to place a spotlight on player well-being and appropriate practices in addressing Concussion, Injury Prevention and now Asthma.

Player well-being is an integral piece of the player centred Long Term Athlete Development model and supports the 'Physical' corner of the 4 Corner Model approach to coaching.

The Asthma Society of Canada recently hosted an excellent webinar which can be found above.

The OSA Medical Coordinator, Dr. Robert Gringmuth is in full support of this content and highlighted the benefits of a refractory warm up period which seems to help many athletes.

"Being fit and active will help someone cope better with asthma symptoms," Dr Joanna MacLean of the University of Alberta said during the webinar.

Club Leaders, Coaches and Parents are strongly encouraged to review the webinar for tips on addressing Asthma Attacks and the best protocol for your athletes.
