The Markham Soccer Club is pleased to announce that Jayde Riviere, a member of the Markham FC 2001 Girls OPDL squad, has been called into the U14 – U17 National Excel Camp taking place in Burnaby, British Columbia from Sept. 10–18.

The National Excel Camp is designed to help identify the top young female players in the country and funnel them into Canada's U15 and U17 female national teams.

A large majority of the girls invited to the camp are born in 1999 and 2000. As a player born in 2001, Jayde is one of the youngest girls in the country identified for this camp.

Jayde was previously invited into the National Excel Camp that took place in April, earlier this year. By many soccer authorities in the province, Jayde is seen as one of the best 2001 born female players in the country.

"Jayde's technical ability and athleticism is unquestionable, however, it has been her mental toughness that has impressed me this year," 2001 Markham FC and club head coach, Tommy Bianchi said. "Earlier this season Jayde had a few minor injuries she had to overcome; never once did she complain, question herself or her abilities."
