The Ontario Soccer Association will be holding the 2016 Men’s Ontario Futsal Cup on March 11-13, 2016 at Vaughan Sportsplex II and Tommy Douglas Secondary School in Vaughan.

Last year, the Ontario Futsal Cup featured Futsal League Champions from various Men’s futsal leagues across the province.

These championship teams faced off against each other in a tournament format leading to a Cup Final.

This year, however, the Provincial Championship will be held in March before the league seasons finish so the competition will be open to any registered Men’s futsal team to enter.

The reason for the early competition is that the CONCACAF Men’s World Cup Qualifying will be taking place in Costa Rica, May 8-15, 2016.

As a result, the Provincial and National Championships will be held in advance of this competition. The Futsal Canadian Championships will be held April 8-10, 2016 and may be used as a scouting competition for the Canadian Men’s Futsal Team.

Men’s futsal teams from around the province will be given the opportunity to enter the Ontario Futsal Cup by completing an online registration form and submitting it by February 18, 2016.

The competition format will be a round-robin tournament format. If more than eight teams enter, then a Preliminary Round may be held on February 28, 2016 in Vaughan.
