The U-16 Boys Ontario Futsal Cup, between the Brampton Blast and Ottawa Storm, had the honour of opening up for the Futsal Canadian Championship on the weekend and they didn’t disappoint. 

Brampton jumped out to a strong first half lead with three unanswered goals by Joseph Maccarone, Darnell Cooper and Jalen Campbell. 

Ottawa pulled one goal back before the half when Josh Lacelle converted his opportunity to make it 3-1. 

Brampton would once again start strong when Alexander Dartey scored only moments after the re-start making it 4-1. 

Ottawa continued to try and keep it close, answering back with a goal from Ryan Maxwell. 

Brampton proved too strong for the side from Ottawa though as Campbell would add his second on the day and Gage Grassam would add a pair of his own to extend the Brampton lead. 

Goals from Ottawa’s Paul Murphy and Mutaz Aldisi kept it close but Brampton would hold on to win 7-4 and captured the U-16 Boys Ontario Futsal Cup.
