Ontario Summer Games Kicks Off Thursday

Provincial Champions will be crowned this weekend in the U-15 Boys Tier 1 and U-15 Girls divisions, as part of the 2016 Ontario Summer Games Mississauga. 

Eight teams in each division will compete over August 11-14 as part as the multidisciplinary games style competition, which is comprised of over 3,500 athletes in 34 sports.

Also, Ontario Cup and Masters Divisions Quarter-Final Matches were held across our province this past weekend, totalling 51 matches with 102 teams playing for the opportunity to compete in a Provincial Championship Semi-Final.

In the Men’s division we saw London Marconi survive a tight contest with Woodbridge Strikers to continue their quest for a third consecutive Ontario Cup title and birth at National Club Championships.

Scarborough GS United continued their dominance of the Women’s division, cruising to the Semi-Final round in their attempt to capture a fourth consecutive Ontario Cup.

Looking ahead to the coming weeks, Ontario Cup Semi-Finals will take place Aug. 27-28 across Southern Ontario, with matches being hosted in Guelph, Oshawa, North York, Mississauga, and Etobicoke.
