The Referee Development Program of The Ontario Soccer Association has as its mission:
"To prepare and certify Referees for the
Club, District, Regional and Provincial levels of the game"
To this end, the training and support provided to Referee leaders such as Club Head Referees, District Referee Coordinators, Instructors, and Assessors is an ongoing program activity intended to enable these leaders to assist with training and developing Referees in communities across the Province.
The program offers training for beginning referees in both the full field game and mini game, as well as on going education for referees who wish to advance their career as a referee. In addition to in-class education sessions the program offers on-field training through the assessment program and fitness testing program.
In addition to the education of the referee the program also focuses on the training and development of the program leaders including the Referee Instructors and Referee Assessors.
