Entry Rules & Online Entry Form
The name of the competition shall be the ONTARIO CUP hereinafter referred to as "The Competition".
1. Divisions

| Note: Subject to age restrictions, a female player may play on a team in any one of the above divisions. Subject to age restrictions, a male player may only play on a team in either a Boys' or Men's division. |
2. Team Eligibility
(A) The competition shall be open to all competitively registered youth and senior amateur teams whose clubs are affiliated with The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA)
(B) A team playing in a Non-Amateur or Professional Soccer League is not eligible to participate in the Ontario Cup.
(C) A team which plays in an amateur league at a higher level than any other offered in Ontario, as determined by The Ontario Soccer Association, may not enter the Ontario Cup.
(D) A team may only be entered in the division for which it is registered with the OSA (i.e., team age classification and team gender classification). (Example: A team registered as Under 18 may only play in the Under 18 division of the Ontario Cup).
(E) Notwithstanding
Rule 2 (D), if there is no division provided for a specific age/gender classification, the team will be permitted to enter the division for the next highest age division of the same gender.
(F) All team coaches and assistant coaches must have completed the Community Coaching Certification Course.
(G) All teams must have a minimum of two team officials listed on the Ontario Cup Entry Form, one of which must be a certified coach.
(H)
If a team has entered another tournament on the same weekend as an Ontario Cup round, the team will be denied entry into the Ontario Cup competition. Note: OSA policies prohibit a team already entered in the Ontario Cup from entering a tournament scheduled the same weekend as any round of the Ontario Cup for its division.
3. Procedures
(A)
Entry Deadline: Application to enter the Ontario Cup must be made on the Online Entry Form
no later than March 31, 2010 and must include full team identification.
(B)
Entry Fee is $300.00. Payment may be made with a credit card at the time the entry form is submitted online. Cheque or money order must be made payable to The Ontario Soccer Association and must be received by the Entry Deadline. If a team has submitted an
Online Entry Form before the deadline, but payment has not been recieved by the OSA Provincial Office or a District Association Office by the Entry Deadline that team will be denied entry into the Competition.
(C)
Divisions: The Ontario Cup will be played in each of the divisions listed above, provided there are a minimum of eight entries in the division.
(D)
Club Approval: Each entry form must be approved by the team’s Club. When a team or club completes the
Online Entry Form and submits it, a copy will be sent to the team's Club. The Club must then forward approval to its District Association
by no later than April 6, 2010 . A team will not be entered in the Ontario Cup if its Club does not approve the Entry by the April 6, 2010 deadline.
E)
Uniforms: Teams participating in the Ontario Cup must have two uniforms of different colour at all Ontario Cup games to avoid colour conflicts. These uniform colours will be registered with the OSA.
4. Format
The Competition shall be organized in five (5) regions with a series of open draws.
The following is a regional breakdown of the District Associations.

Travel Expenses: For a team travelling to and from Thunder Bay, the OSA will pay 60% of the air travel and the Club shall be responsible for the other 40% of the air travel and all other expenses. Teams travelling in excess of 1,000 km are eligible for this air travel subsidy.
Round 3 Qualification: A minimum of one team from each Region shall qualify for Round 3 (last sixteen teams). Further representation by each Region in Round 3 shall be based on the percentage of the total entries attained by each region.
Quarter-Finals Qualification: In the event that 41 or more teams enter a division with a tournament format, qualifying for the quarter-finals, that division will require a Preliminary Round to be played May 29-30, 2010 for Under 12 and Under 13 Boys, Under 15 Boys Tier 1 and Under 15 Girls and June 5-6, 2010 for Under 14 Boys and Girls, as well as for Under 12 and Under 13 Girls.
5. Ontario Cup Round-Robin Tournament
Format
(1) A Tournament Round format will be implemented for the Under 12 Boys, Under 13 Boys, Under 14 Boys, Under 15 Boys Tier 1, Under 15 Boys Tier 2, Under 16 Boys Tier 1, Under 16 Boys Tier 2, Under 17 Boys Tier 1, Under 12 Girls, Under 13 Girls, Under 14 Girls, Under 15 Girls, Under 16 Girls, and Under 17 Girls divisions. The winners of each tournament will qualify for the next round of the Competition. Any round following the round-robin tournament format will be a one game knock-out.
(2) Regional representation will not be a requirement in the round-robin tournament format. A minimum of 12 teams must enter an Ontario Cup division in order to conduct the "Tournament Round Format". If 8 - 11 teams enter the division, the traditional knock-out format will be implemented.
(3) The Under 17 Boys Tier 2, Under 18 Boys and Under 18 Girls divisions will implement the knock-out format because there was an insufficient number of tournament host organizations for these divisions.

In the event that any of the above are unable to host any tournament(s) assigned to it, the OSA may assign another tournament host to replace it. If there are insufficient teams in a division, the OSA will reduce the number of tournament groups in accordance with its policies.
2) Each team will play two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday. If a three-team or five-team round-robin tournament is required, each team will play two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday.
3) The Ontario Soccer Association will determine the schedule and order of the games. The Host District D.O.C.C. will assign the game time and location of each game.
4) In the event that some or all games of a tournament are cancelled due to unplayable field conditions, the unplayed games shall be rescheduled by the OSA and shall be played before the next round.
5) Any team failing to fulfil its scheduled cup games in a tournament round shall forfeit its entry fee and its club will be fined up to a maximum of $1,100.00.
A team withdrawing from or failing to appear at a scheduled Ontario Cup game where it is required to travel over 1000km one way will be fined an additional 50% of the applicable penalty.
6. Ontario Summer Games
1) After the tournament round of the Ontario Cup, the remaining eight teams in each of the Under 15 Boys Tier 1 and Under 15 Girls divisions will play in the Ontario Summer Games, in Sudbury, August 10-13, 2010.
2) All teams entering the competition must be prepared to participate in all of the events, including the Opening Ceremony and various social activities. The 8 boys teams and 8 girls teams will be accommodated in university/college residences and will be provided three meals per day during the event.
3) There will be a Summer Games Team Fee of $90.00 per player charged to each team. The Fee is a requirement of the Ministry of Health Promotion. The Summer Games Team Fees will be paid to the O.S.A. by no later than July 15, 2010. The O.S.A. will forward the fees to the Ontario Summer Games.
4) A minimum of one team entered from each Region (see Rule 4) shall qualify for the Ontario Summer Games (i.e. last 8 teams).
5) All team officials are required to have a Police Check. Team officials who do not have this Police Check will either not be allowed to travel to any of the "vulnerable sectors" such as change rooms, bathrooms, residences, etc. or in extreme cases, if a head coach or team manager does not complete the Police Check, that individual will be escorted if required to visit any portion of the described "vulnerable sectors."
7. No Shows & Withdrawals
Any team failing to fulfil its scheduled cup game (other than a tournament round) shall forfeit its entry fee and its club shall be subject to a set fine up to a maximum fine of $600.00.
8. National Club Championships
The winning teams in the Under 14 Boys, Under 16 Boys Tier 1, Under 18 Boys, Under 14 Girls, Under 16 Girls, Under 18 Girls, Men's and Women's divisions shall represent the Province of Ontario in the National Club Championships. If any of these teams refuses to participate in the National Club Championships, its Club shall be fined $1,500.00.
Under 14 Boys and Girls will be held in Moncton, New Brunswick, Under 16 Boys and Girls in Vaughan, Ontario, Under 18 Boys and Girls in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, and the Men’s and Women’s Championships will be held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
9. Other Information
Tiered Divisions
Teams playing in a Level 1 to Level 3 League or in District Assocaitions with no teams in Level 1 to Level 3 Leagues, teams which finished in first or second place in the top division of the 2009 Youth Level 4 League, may participate in Tier 1. Teams which play in a Level 4 or Level 5 League, participate in Tier 2.

By submitting the Entry Form, you are agreeing to all conditions in the Entry Rules.
You are also agreeing to abide by the Competition Rules and administration procedures of the competition. |
The new arrangement with HTG will provide teams with a full service accommodation booking company that will satisfy all travel needs. HTG will simplify travel for teams by making hotels more accessible and providing teams with more information on the city they are competing in.
After the draw has taken place on April 18th, all teams will be getting an email with detailed information on how to book your accommodations.
Hudson Travel Group will be putting aside blocks at all the participating host hotels in each city so be sure to contact them immediately following your identified location to secure your spot. We thank you in advance for your support.

Teams must register online for the 2010 Ontario Cup by March 31, 2010.
