How To Apply for and host Coaching  Courses

Hosting a Coaching Course in 2012

If you are a club or District and wish to Apply To Host A Coaching Course please access the following course Applications.   Applications should be mailed in complete with clinic deposit direct to The Ontario Soccer Association - Attention :  OSA Coaching Coordinator.   Applications must be received in the OSA office at least 6 weeks prior to the requested date.

Dates To Avoid

APRIL DATES -  The April date selection is filling to capacity. To avoid disappointment please look to providing alternate choices.

Pre "B" Course dates can be  requested for any time after APRIL.   HISTORICALLY  members best served with  summer / fall  Pre "B" Assessment Courses.

The electronic course register form is now available for the host to use for registration.  This is the electronic form that will be required to submit to the confirmed Learning Facilitator.  IMPORTANT:  When you open the excel format doc,  the host will only fill in the information under the tab, for Coaches .      Do not attempt to fill in information under any other section of this excel document.   Click on the tab for Coaches information  and then make sure you save .  

Be sure to save your file FIRST,   Download the form , save it, then add your coaches to the correct page.

If you are a District interested in hosting a Pre "B" course


  • Pre B course applications  "to Host"  will be available shortly. 


Please make sure you review the application and the requirements to host.   In particular the Facility requirements and guidelines to ensure a successful course.


Due to changes in the program and the impact it has had on volume of spring courses  we are requesting that Districts select dates for their Pre B Course/s
  after the beginning of May!  Historically the best suited dates are summer / fall courses.


Points To Note

*NEW !!  part of the application process for the Pre "B"  Assessment will be to complete an on-line Referee Laws of the Game course.  (the on-line access will be provided , once host provides confirmed list of attendees) 

* Host must complete electronic spreadsheet which will be emailed to the District Host.  This must be submitted to OSA Coaching Coordinator  2 weeks prior to start date.   (The Host must confirm that they have checked all pre-requisite requirements to  apply)  Please ensure each applicant provides an OSA number and an NCCP number and email along with proof of completion of  Pre-Requisite requirements.


* Coaches who successfully pass the Pre "B" Assessment -may apply to the Provincial "B" Licence Part one  of the National B Licence course after a practical wait period of  12 months from their successful assessment date .  When a coach applies to the Provincial "B" course they must provide copies of their result letter and assessment copy with the application.  



Prerequisites to Apply

  • Passed on-line Laws of the Game Exam (or valid & current referee Status) details about on-line course to be provided when application approved
  • Completed full hours Community Coaching Course (Soccer Technical- Child/ Youth / Senior)  + MED + Respect In Soccer  
OR
  • Completed the "Soccer For Life" + MED + Respect In Soccer and passed on-line Laws of the Game Exam (or valid & currant referee status)
OR
  • Completed the "Learn To Train" Technical Soccer Course + MED + Respect In Soccer and passed on-line Laws of the Game Exam (or valid & currant referee status)
OR
  • Former / Active Canadian Professional Player  (Written verification from Provincial Technical Director) + MED + Respect In Soccer and passed on-line Laws of the Game Exam (or valid & currant referee status)     *  Written Approval from the Director Technical (OSA) is required if applying based on this prerequisite  requirement
