Ontario U14 Girls Win 2 v 0 San Diego Surfs

3/17/2010

CALIFORNIA, USA – With the preceding U15 Girls game delayed by 40 minutes and temperatures dropping, Ontario’s U14 Girls started their game under chilly Pacific Coast conditions.

It took 12 minutes for the Ontario Girls to warm up on the artificial turf field and a great strike from #10, Noor Medlej got the ball rolling to put Ontario on the scoreboard.

The U14 San Diego Surfs are rated No. 2 in Southern California and both teams were evenly matched.

The game went back and forth until the 70th minute when #21 Karen Tomayo put the insurance goal into the Surfs net.

The best save of Ontario’s two matches came in the dying minutes with a diving stop by keeper Katie McCormick to earn the clean sheet.

Final Score: Team Ontario 2 – San Diego Surfs 0.

Team Ontario Lineup:

Erin Visser (23), MacKenzie Stacey (17), Angela Trojanovic (6), Ashley Moreira (21), Paige Barnes (9), Adriana Currie (3), Carla Poarillo (10), Andrea Petrina (19), Dojana Solomon (8), Jordane Carvey (2) and Michaela Di Cianna.
